Why this exists

Building is lonely. It doesn’t have to be.

Most rooms for people who build are either a pitch fest or a pep rally. The Compact is neither. It’s a small circle of owners, operators, makers, tradespeople, and founders around Raleigh who are building something real and want sharp peers to build it with.

02We read itEvery application gets read by a person. We’re looking for fit: what you build and how you show up.
03You’re inSign in with the email you applied with. The address for each meetup and your RSVP live behind that door.

Membership

The name is the deal.

Show up, say how it’s really going, and keep what’s said in the room. Founding members set the tone for everything that comes after.

The things people ask before they apply.

Is there a fee?

No. There’s no fee at this time.

Where do you meet?

Around the Raleigh area. The address for each meetup goes out to approved members only, 24 to 48 hours before, and is never posted publicly.

How often?

We’re starting with pool nights and adding formats as the room grows. Every meetup is listed on the meetups page with the date and format. Members RSVP so we know how many tables to hold.

What happens after I apply?

You get a sign-in link by email and your account shows as pending. We read every application. If it’s a fit, we approve you and you’ll see the next meetup’s details when you sign in.

What if it’s not a fit?

No hard feelings. This first room is a tight builders circle. If we spin up more nights or a different track, we’ll keep you posted.

Do I need to be a founder?

No. Builders. Owners, operators, tradespeople, makers, founders, and anyone with a serious project. What you’re building matters more than what you call yourself.

What are you looking for in an application?

Two things. What you’re building, and how you show up. Openness, generosity, and a willingness to pour into the room. We’re putting a table together, not ranking a list.
